Para acabar hoy, quiero presentaros a Isabella, una querida amiga a la que le hice un conjunto Victoriano, compuesto por: Polisón, enagua, falda, sobrefalda, cola, chaleco, y una blusa de encaje de guipour. En las fotos la podeis ver con todo puesto, excepto la blusa, que ya puse hace tiempo.

To finish today, let me introduce you to Isabella, a dear friend to whom I made a Victorian ensemble, that is: Bustle, petticoat, skirt, overskirt, tail, waistcoat, and a guipour lace blouse. You can see her on the pictures wearing all of them, except for the blouse, which I posted a long ago. I hope you like it as much as I liked to make it.

Aquí va la segunda parte del post, ahora es la chaqueta del uniforme de soldado alemán. Como veis, lleva varios apliques bordados en el cuello, el brazo, y el filo de un puño.

También lleva charreteras en los hombros, que fué un trabajo que me encantó hacer…

Aunque es una prenda para escenario, los bolsillos pueden abrirse. Quería hacer esta chaqueta con bastante detalle, ya que nunca había hecho un uniforme de soldado “moderno” (ya sé, los años 40 pueden considerarse vintage, pero es moderno si se compara con un uniforme napoleónico).

Debo decir que el uniforme completo me dió bastante trabajo, pero estoy contenta con el resultado, espero que en el escenario se vea igual de bonito.

Here is the second half of the post, this is the uniform,s jacket. As you see, there are some embroidered motifs on the collar, arm, and the edge of one of the cuffs.

There are also shoulder pieces, which were a job I loved to make…

Although this is an item for stage, the pockets can be opened. I wanted to make this jacket very detailed, as I had never done before a “modern” soldier uniform (I know, the 40,s can be considered as vintage, but it,s modern compared to a Napoleonic uniform).

I must say that the complete uniform took a lot of work, but I,m happy with the result, I hope that it looks the same way on the stage.

Lo segundo que os voy a enseñar voy a hacerlo en dos posts, ya que son muchas fotos.

Es un uniforme de soldado alemán de los años 40, que me han encargado para la Escuela de Arte Dramático, para representar una obra. Me encanta hacer ropas para escenario, ya que se ven mucho.

Lo primero que os enseño es el pantalón, podeis ver que es ancho en la pierna, tiene el estilo de los pantalones de montar. Se lleva con botas altas, y va por dentro de las botas. Al ser un pantalón para teatro que puede ser usado por varias personas, puse en la cintura goma elástica, para adaptarla a varias medidas.

The second item I want to show you, will be shown on two posts, as there are lots of pictures.

This is a 40,s German soldier uniform, that was commited to me by the School of Dramatic Arts, to make a theatre play. I love to make stage clothes, as they look very cool.

The first thing I,m showing is the pant, you can see that it is wide on the leg, it is on the style of the riding trousers. It is worn with high boots, and it is put inside the boots. As it is a pant made to be worn by various people, I put on the waist an elastic band, to addapt it to various sizes.

Ahora quiero mostraros una gorguera. Está hecha de tafetán, y es el doble de ancha de las que habeis visto hasta ahora. La clienta lo quiso así. Se ve bastante espectacular, tanto por las medidas como por la tela. Ya sabeis que puedo hacerlas en cualquier color. Por cierto, parece que las gorgueras se han convertido en una de vuestras piezas favoritas, en las analíticas de google queda reflejado que es de lo que más se busca en mi blog.

It looks very spectacular, both for the measurements and the fabric. You know that I can make them in any colour. By the way, it seems that the ruffled collars have become one of your favourite items, it is reflected on the google analytics that it,s the most wanted on this blog.

Lo último que quiero enseñaros hoy es este look años 30 que llevé en Halloween, en 2009. Perdón por no enseñar la cara, pero es que iba maquillada de zombie, y sinceramente, no lo veo apropiado para este look si no es el día de Halloween, ji ji…

El traje se compone de falda, blusa, y chaqueta.

La blusa es de raso de seda cortada al bies, para que haga drapeado en el escote.

Tanto la falda como la chaqueta están hechas de tela de rayas gris y negra, con botones a juego. Ambas están sacadas de una revista de moda española de los años 30.

Intenté completar el look con un bolso vintage, unos zapatos en gris y negro también de estilo retro, y una boina de mohair negro.

The last thing I want to show you today is this 30,s look I wore at Halloween, in 2009. Sorry for not showing my face, but I had a zombie make up, and to tell the truth, I don,t see it appropiate enough for this look if it,s not at Halloween, hi hi…

The suit includes skirt, blouse, and jacket.

The blouse is made of silk satin cut on bias, to make a drapped collar.

Both the skirt and the jacket are made of a stripped fabric on grey and black, with matching buttons.

Both of them are taken from a 30,s Spanish fashion magazine.

I tried to complete the look with a vintage bag, shoes on grey and black also in a retro style, and a black mohair beret.

Este es uno de mis últimos trabajos, que he hecho para alguien muy querido de mi propia familia. Será llevado el próximo fin de semana en la fiesta del Arde Lucus, en Lugo, dedicada a romanos y celtas.

Es un traje de romano, que se compone de túnica y toga, hechas ambas de lino, y con todas las costuras que se ven cosidas a mano. Las franjas moradas son de algodón. Creo que no necesita mucha explicación, es fácil ver la forma que tiene y como se lleva.

En la primera foto veis en detalle la costura a mano, y en la segunda la forma de la toga extendida. Espero que os guste…

This is one of my latest jobs, which I,ve made for someone very dear from my own family. It will be worn next weekend, on the celebration of Arde Lucus, in Lugo, dedicated to Roman and Celtics.

It,s a Roman dress, composed by tunic and mantle, both of them made in linen, and with all of the seams that can be seen , made by hand. The purple stripes are in cotton. I think it doesn,t need a big explanation, it,s easy to see the shape and how this dress is worn.

On the first picture you can see a detail of the hand stitching, and on the second one the shape of the mantle when extended.I hope you like it…

Today I,m bringing a couple of skirts I,ve made recently, very similar, but different at the same time. Both of them are from the 16th century, the first one is more simple, the second one is more elaborated on its shape. You,ll find the explanations under the pictures, I hope you like them…

Esta falda está hecha en paño de lana granate, y se adorna con dos filas de grossgrain, en blanco y en negro.  Los colores son los del grupo al que pertenece (de los cuales hablaré más adelante), y la enagua es opcional.

This skirt is made of dark red wool fabric and is embellished with two rows of black and white grossgrain ribbon. The colors are the colours of the group she belongs to (I,ll speak about them in a near future), and the petticoat is optional.

Esta falda se compone de dos capas:

-La interior, en brocado granate.

-La exterior, en tela negra (llamada estameña en español), adornada con un galón negro y dorado. Esta está abierta para que se vea la de abajo. En la última foto podeis apreciar el detalle de las telas y el galón.

This skirt is made with two layers:

-The inner one, in dark red brocade fabric.

-The outer one, in a black fabric named estameña in Spanish, embellished with a black and gold ribbon. This layer is open at the front, to show the inner layer. On the last picture you can appreciate the details of the fabrics and the ribbon. 

Hoy me llegaron unos encajes vintage que compré, y en la mano, se ven preciosos. Los pedí con la idea de hacer con ellos gorgueras, tanto para ser usadas en ropa histórica, como para dar un toque elegante a un conjunto gótico.

El primer encaje es blanco, bordado sobre organza, y tengo material para dos gorgueras.

El segundo, es de hilo de algodón color crudo, y tengo para una gorguera.

Today I received vintage laces I had bought, and they look great in the hand. I asked them with the idea of making ruffled collars, to be used both on historical clothing, or to add an elegant touch to a gothic suit.

The first lace is white, embroidered on organze, and I have lace enough for two collars.

The second lace is made of creamy colour cotton thread, and I have lace enough for one collar.

I put the pictures for you to see why I like them so much, hi hi…

Y aquí está la segunda parte del post doble.

La siguiente y última prenda para completar el traje es la CHAQUETA, que está hecha con una tela vintage de algodón brocado, en rosa maquillaje. Lleva como adorno unas hombreras bordadas con claveles y rosas, y está adornada con pasamanería con borlones rosa y verde. El forro de la chaqueta es de raso color gris perla.

En el corte de la chaqueta se observa la similitud que tiene con las chaquetas Spencer, sin embargo, el detalle de las hombreras es más español.

En la cabeza, se lleva una mantilla, colocada sobre un moño alto, con unas flores hechas de lazo como adorno.

Y para completar el conjunto, un abanico.

Así se vestía en España , sobre todo en Madrid, cuando vinieron las tropas de Napoleón.

En la última foto me veis junto a una amiga, ella vestida a la europea, en una celebración de la batalla de Pontesampaio.

And here is the second part of the post.

The next and last piece of wear to complete the suit is the JACKET, that,s made with a vintage brocade cotton fabric, in a shade of nude pink. It has as an embellishement a couple of shoulder pads, embroidered with carnations and roses, and it is bordered with a ribbon in pink and green, with pompons. The lining of the jacket is grey pearl satin.

It can be observed on the cut of the jacket the paralelism that it has with the Spencer jackets, but the detail of the shoulder pads is more Spanish.

It is worn a lace veil on the head, put on a top knot, with ribbon flowers made as an embellishement.

And, to complete the suit, a fan.

This is the way women dressed in Spain, specially in Madrid, when the Napoleonic army came around here.

In the last picture you can see me with a friend, she´s dresses in the European fashion, in a celebration of Pontesampaio,s battle.
