Lo primero que os quiero enseñar es algo mío, y excepcionalmente, la de las fotos soy yo, ji ji. No suelo mostrarme en fotos porque no me gusta como me veo, pero en esta ocasión es distinto. Es un trabajo muy bonito en dos vertientes distintas: la de la ropa, y la del baile.

A finales del año pasado pude hacer un par de actuaciones de Burlesque, mis dos primeras y espero que no sean las últimas. Me hice la ropa, por supuesto, y también la coreografía, usando como música un tema de las adorables Andrews Sisters, llamado “Strip Polka”, creo que debe ser de los años 40 más o menos…

Las fotos que veis ahora no son las mejores, me hice una sesión que más adelante podréis ver, aunque quería poneros algunas en avance.

El traje que llevo es un corsé de seda brocada con estampado de dragones chinos, una sobrefalda y un pololo de raso negro. La decoración es en morado y fucsia.Veis que es muy simple, no va excesivamente recargado, pero en el escenario se ve muy bonito. (Hice un vídeo que espero poder editar pronto y colgarlo online para que lo veais también).

He disfrutado mucho con la experiencia de bailar así en plan divertido, fue muy agradable. Espero que os guste…

The first thing I want to show you is something of my own, and to make an exception, it,s me who appears on the pictures. I don,t use to show myself on pictures because I don,t like the way I look, but this time it,s different. It,s a very beautiful work, in two different matters: clothes, and dancing.

At the end of last year I could make a couple of Burlesque performances, my two firsts, and I hope they won,t be the lasts. I made the clothes, of course, and also the choreography, using as a base a song from the cutest Andrews Sisters, named “Strip Polka”, I think it must be from the Forties or so…

The pictures you can see now are not the best ones, I made a photo shoot that you,ll be able to see soon, although I wanted to show some pics on advance.

The suit I wear is a corset made of brocade silk, with Chinese Dragons motifs, an overskirt and bloomers. The embellishment is in purple and fuchsia pink. You see it,s very simple, it,s not too excesive, but it looks very beautiful on stage. (I made a video I hope to edit soon and put it online for you all to see it too).

I,ve enjoyed a lot the experience of dancing in a funny way, it was very nice. I hope you like it…

Ahora quiero mostraros una pequeña colección de pendientes. Todos ellos tienen imágenes retro, que hacen pensar en tiempos lejanos. Divas del blanco y negro, Alicia, el conejo, motivos de Halloween, pin ups…La base es de metal, y la imagen está cubierta de resina, lo que la hace resistente y más brillante. Son muy sencillitos, pero quedan muy bien puestos. Además tienen un buen precio, y son un detalle perfecto para regalar.

I want to show you now a little collection of earrings. All of them have retro pictures, that make one think of the days gone by. Black and white divas, Alice, the rabbit, Halloween motifs, pin ups… The base is metallic, and the picture is covered with resin, so that it gets more resistant and shinning. They are very simple, buy they look nice when worn. Thay also have a good price, and are a perfect detail to gift.

Usando también resina, hice este conjunto de anillos con forma de rosa, en muchos colores, para todos los gustos.

Hola a todos!

Estos días estuve bastante ocupada, preparando material para algo que os contaré un poco más adelante…

Quería mostraros el último corsé que hice, para una querida amiga, María. En las fotos podeis verla llevando además la falda que le hice hace algún tiempo, y para la cual le hice el corsé.

Es negro, con apliques de encaje de guipour marrón, como el bies de raso que lleva en los filos, y el lazo de raso para atar en la espalda. El interior está forrado de tela de algodón a rayas negro y granate.

La falda es de la misma tela, y lleva un volante de tul marrón en el filo.

También lleva un collar que puse en este blog hace tiempo ya, de cuero marrón, con un colgante con la imagen de un mono extraido de un grabado victoriano.

Lo cierto es que el conjunto le queda muy bonito, y ella está encantada, que es lo mejor.

These last days I was very busy, preparing some stuff for something I,ll talk about later…

I wanted to show you the last corset I made, for a dear friend, María. You can see her on the pictures wearing also the skirt I made her a while ago, and I made the corset to mach with the skirt.

It is black, with brown guipour lace motifs, also brown is the satin bias on the edges, and the satin ribbon to tie on the back. It is lined with cotton fabric, dark red and black.

The skirt is made of the same fabric than the corset, and there is a brown tulle ruffle on the edge.

She also wears a necklace I posted on this blog some time ago, made of brown leather, with a pendant, including a monkey extracted from a Victorian woodcut.

The truth is that the clothes fit her very well, and she,s pleased with it, which is the best part.

Ahora os quiero mostrar un corsé hecho de tela brocada negra, decorado con cinta de terciopelo y encaje de guipour, en negro tambien, ambos vintage. Ata en la espalda con lazo de raso negro.

Veis que es un corsé que parece sencillo, pero queda muy bonito puesto.

Debo decir que cuando lo estaba haciendo tenía un poco de miedo ya que temía que el corsé quedara pequeño. Por ello pedí a una amiga que tenía las mismas medidas que se lo pusiera. Las fotos que veis son de ella llevando el corsé, y al final os pongo a su dueña llevándolo contenta en una noche de fiesta.

I want to show you now a corset made of black brocade fabric, embellished with black velvet ribbon, and black guipour lace, both of them vintage. It closures on the back with black satin ribbon

You see that it is a corset that looks simple, but it looks very beautiful when worn.

I must admit that I was a little afraid when I was making it. I feared that the corset would be too small. So, I asked to a friend with the same size to wear it. The pictures you see were taken to her wearing the corset, and at the end you can see the corset,s owner wearing it happily on a party night.

Ahora quiero enseñaros unos pendientes que hice. Son una colección a la que llamo pulguitas. Esto tiene un motivo:

En los años 30 se hacían unas fotografías de un tamaño muy pequeño, que los llamaban retratos pulguita, como de 1 cm y medio, cuadradas, con las esquinas en negro. Cuando empecé a hacer los pendientes recordé estas fotos ya que el tamaño de los dibujos es el mismo. Las medallas están rellenas de resina, y los pendientes llevan abalorios a juego con cada imagen. Es un trabajo que me ha encantado, aunque siempre se puede perfeccionar.

I want to show you now some earrings I made. They are a collection I call Fleas. There is a reason:

At the 1930,s, there were made a kind of pictures of a very small size, that were called flea portraits, they measured about 1 cm and a half, squared, with the corners faded to black. When I started aking these earrings I remembered these portraits, as their size are the same. The medals are filled with resin, and the earrings have matching beads to every image. It,s a work I loved to do, but it can always be more perfect.

Para terminar, os muestro una selección de prendas de boudoir. Es una imagen un poco de flapper girl de los años 20, una mezcla de inocencia y picardía al mismo tiempo, con un resultado divertido a veces, o dramático y teatral, depende de la intención.

To end, I show you a selection of Boudoir clothes. It,s a look a little like the Flapper girls from the twenties, a mix of innocence and teasing at the same time, with a funny result sometimes, or dramatical and theatrical, depending on the intention.

La segunda pieza es este culotte que se ve muy bien para un look gótico, burlesque, cabaret, tribaret o boudoir. Está hecho de algodón de rayas en rojo y blanco, y adornado con encaje negro,y un motivo bordado de dos llaves y una cerradura. Fue hecho por encargo para la misma chica que llevaba el corsé Steampunk hace algunos posts, como clienta contenta.

The second item is this culotte that looks great on a Gothic, Burlesque,Cabaret, Tribaret, or Boudoir look. It is made of stripped cotton in red and white, and embellished with black lace, and an embroidered motif of two keys and a keylock.It was made by request by the same girl who wears the Steampunk corset you could see some posts ago, as a happy customer.

The culotte brochures on the back with two hook and eyes.

Ahora os traigo un par de muestras de telas, que os he puesto combinadas entre sí, con la idea de hacer corsés con ellas.

-Por un lado, tenemos un combinado de telas para corsé steampunk, en concreto, el corsé de viajes que puse hace algunos posts. Como ya no me queda la tela del mapa, propongo combinar la tela de rayas bien con la de aviones antiguos, o con la de las brujulas. Esta está disponible como se ve en la foto o también con el fondo en gris azulado.

-Para un corsé gótico, victoriano, pin up… tenemos estas dos telas japonesas, en las que predomina el color morado. Son preciosas, y se puede crear algo realmente bello.

Now I,m bringing a couple of fabric samplers, that I put combining each other, with the intention of macking corsets with them.

-On one hand, we have a combination of fabrics for a Steampunk corset, on the fact, the Travel corset that I showed some posts ago. As there is no more fabric left of the one printed with the antique map, I propose to combine the stripped fabric both with the airplanes fabric, or the compass fabric. This one is available as it is on the picture, or with the foundation colour on a blueish grey.

-For a Gothic, Victorian, Pin up… corset, we have these two japanise style printed fabrics, in which the purple colour is the main attraction. They are wonderful, and it can be used on creating something really wonderful.
